Lisa Domican has developed an iPhone app to help her autistic daughter Grace communicating. The mother of two autistic children asked the iPhone developer Steven Troughton-Smith to develop the app. Troughton-Smith promptly agreed. By now, iPhone app “Grace” has won the Irish Web Award 2010 and the World Summit Award Mobile. Lisa Domican interviewed by Colin Mueller.
Parents often report that learning their child is autistic was the most traumatic thing that ever happened to them. Non-autistic people see autism as a great tragedy, and parents experience continuing disappointment and grief at all stages of the child’s and family’s life cycle.
